We have just finished another sucessful season here at Tuscany Walking. It is at this time of year that I like to reflect on the season gone by and also on why we think you should come walking in Italy with Tuscany Walking.
This season we had perfect walking weather, particulary September when the weather was warm and summery without being too hot. Of course we have our base near Barga which is reputed to be one of Italy's prettiest towns with it's medieval walled 'Barga Vecchia' and the historical Duomo looking down from it's pinnacle at the rest of the area below.
It isn't just the fact that we walk in a very tradtional and undiscovered part of northern Tuscany. Nor is it the fact that accommodation for our guests is in nearby Tiglio with it's ancient stone buildings renovated to the highest standards and decorated in the traditional Tuscan style for comfort but with modern facilities such as the lovely outdoor pool. It is all of these things together with a great service that Tuscany Walking offer to guests that makes Tuscany Walking the best choice for walkers looking to walk in Italy.
Our team members live locally. Our guides all speak natural English and fluent Italian. They have explored little known tracks and trails and are eager to share their secret Italy with you. It is because we live in the area and know the locals that we can offer our guests an authentic Italian experience.
We have a back-up team and so in the very unlikely event that something may not go quite to plan, we have people on hand to get everything back on track!
Our holidays here in Tuscany include the following, which in our opinion no other organisation offering walking holidays in Tuscany can match:
7 - nights bed and breakfast at Tiglio in a private apartment with private bathroom, kitchen facilities and sitting room with access to the swimming pool. Breakfasts are substantial and we can usually respond to special requests!
1 - welcome lunch on arrival at a restaurant in Barga
6 - dinners in local restaurants with wine.
5 - picnic lunches on walking days.
Free transport to and from the start and finish points of our walks should it be needed. We do not usually use public transport but occasionally do with the agreement of out guests (no extra payment required).
Free lift from and to Pisa Airport at the beginning and end of your holiday.
No local payments, we do not expect you to arrive and start paying for extras that you didn't know about.
An enthusiastic and helpful team to help you get the most from your holiday. We are happy to give advice and have people available to help out if and when needed.
