Other criteria I looked for - are the operators English speaking (since I don't speak Italian)? Will it be easy for me to get there (ie the fact that I'd be picked up in Pisa was key; I wouldn't be fussy about having to rent a car or find alternative transport to Barga)"

Walks
"The walks were just right in terms of length. Some were more challenging than others but I consider that a strength rather than a weakness as each walk added a different dimension to the week. I look forward to a bit of challenge when I go on a walking holiday and I wasn't disappointed!"
